Tech Tool Tip for Virtual Events: Kumospace
This week I found a brand-new tech toy to share – Kumospace. Kumospace describes itself as an “immersive video chat” experience and it is a great alternative to Zoom breakout rooms or other video chat options. To create your space, you add at least one room. You choose a theme for your room, like bar or classroom or even Kentucky Derby, and choose a URL and name. Once it’s set-up you can enter as a small square avatar with your video. Once you enter you can move around the room and interact with some objects to pour yourself a drink, listen to music, and in a few rooms, even get some food! Tech Tool Tip for Online Fundraising: Give Lively
I want to introduce you to one of my new favorite tools for online fundraising: the Give Lively platform. According to their website, "Give Lively was created to build better online fundraising technology and give it away to nonprofits for free." And, they definitely deliver, in my opinion. It's pretty easy to get started, just three steps: Sign up as a member. Connect your payment processor. Create a campaign page and start your online fundraising! That's really it! Like I said, there are a few requirements. You have to be listed with Guidestar (but you should claim your profile anyway). You also have to sign up for a Stripe nonprofit discount, but you can link a PayPal account to process payments.
